INGREDIENTS:

ORGANIC CANADIAN SEAWEED:

Benefits: Seaweed Powder is a rich source of vitamins including vitamins B12 (not found in land plants), vitamin E, amino acids, minerals, trace elements, and other nutrients. Seaweed powder makes for an effective cleansing and exfoliating agent. When applied to the skin, Seaweed treatments act as a powerful purifier that draws out impurities while imparting benefits to the skin. It helps to slough off dead skin cells from the surface of the skin which gives the skin a healthy, revitalized, and glowing appearance. Seaweed contains fatty acids, which makes it suitable for use on irritated skin as it will help retain skin's moisture levels, and alleviate chapping, cracking and roughness caused by dryness of the skin. It can also be used on oily and acne-prone skin. Seaweed Powder is suitable for all skin types.

Scents:

BERGAMOT ESSENTIAL OIL:

The aroma is basically citrus, yet fruity and sweet with a warm spicy floral quality, and is reminiscent of Neroli, giving a middle note of medium strength.

The cicatrizant in bergamot helps heal scars and other marks on the skin. It also makes the distribution of pigments and melanin uniform, resulting in the fading away of marks and an even, attractive skin tone. This essential oil is commonly used to eliminate the unsightly effects of acne, which can leave noticeable scars on the affected areas for many years. The same disinfectant and antibiotic properties of bergamot oil make it a good antiseptic agent too.  It not only promotes fast healing of wounds, cracks in the skin and heels, ulcers, eczema, and itching but also protects wounds from becoming septic and developing deadly tetanus. It also treats and heals the effects of other infections and inhibits the formation of new ones.

The flavonoids present in bergamot oil are very good relaxants as well. They soothe the nerves and reduce nervous tension, anxiety, and stress, all of which can help cure ailments associated with stress such as high blood pressure, insomnia, and depression. They can also stimulate the activity of certain hormones in the body like dopamine and serotonin, which induce feelings of relaxation and sedation.

NEROLI ESSENTIAL OIL:

Neroli Essential Oil has a sweet, floral citrus aroma. Many aromatherapists refer to Neroli as an exotic and exquisite essential oil.

The health benefits of Neroli essential oil can be attributed to its properties as an antidepressant, aphrodisiac, antiseptic, bactericidal, cordial, carminative, cicatrizant, cytophylactic, disinfectant, antispasmodic, deodorant, digestive, emollient, sedative, and tonic substance.

Any type of skin can benefit from this oil, especially good for dry, irritated or sensitive skin.

TANGERINE ESSENTIAL OIL:

The health benefits of Tangerine essential oil can be attributed to its properties as an antiseptic, antispasmodic, cytophylactic, depurative, sedative, and stomachic.

A middle note with a medium aroma, Tangerine is typically fresh, tangy and sweet.

Tangerine essential oil helps to maintain moisture balance in the skin and shows cicatrizant and emollient properties as well. It also eases rashes, dryness, and cracking of skin.

SWEET ORANGE ESSENTIAL OIL:

The health benefits of orange essential oil can be attributed to its properties as an anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, antispasmodic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, carminative, diuretic, tonic, sedative, and a cholagogic substance.

A middle note with a medium aroma, Orange Essential Oil has a sweet, citrus smell like the orange peels from which it is derived, but more intense and concentrated.

Sodium Bicarbonate:

Sodium bicarbonate is a natural mineral, used to clean and smooth the skin.

Citric Acid:

Citric Acid is a weak organic acid. Citric acid is also an antioxidant that reduces the effects of aging. It helps repair the skin and fortify blood vessels. Citric acid can also help loosen the damaged layers of skin. This results in the healthier, younger skin underneath the spoiled skin coming to the top, giving you fairer skin and an effervescent complexion.

Epsom Salts:

Epsom salts are an anti-inflammatory, create a detoxifying effect and they replenish the body's magnesium stores, which are often lacking.

Corn Starch:

Soother for irritation of the skin, including sunburn and skin allergies

Avocado Oil:

Avocado oil contains Vitamins A, B1, B2, D, E, and Beta carotene.

Effects of Topical Vitamins:

Vitamin A:

Thickens and stimulates the dermis – where your collagen, elastin and blood vessels are – so it reduces wrinkles and increases blood flow to the surface of the skin. Vitamin A actually increases the deposition of collagen; therefore it slows the normal aging breakdown of your collagen and elastin. It is considered a thorough exfoliator, and this repeated shedding of the upper dermal layer forces the skin to produce new cells and stimulate collagen production.

Vitamin B:

Will help heal damaged complexion when applied topically.

Vitamin C:

Topical vitamin C has beneficial effects on skin cells, and some studies have shown that vitamin C may help prevent and treat ultraviolet (UV)-induced photodamage.

Vitamin E:

Is an antioxidant superstar. Benefits include enhancing the efficacy of active sunscreen ingredients, reducing the formation of free radicals from exposure to UV rays, promoting the healing process, strengthening the skin's barrier function, protecting the skin barrier's lipid balance, and reducing trans epidermal water loss.

Vitamin D:

Vitamin D plays an integral role in skin protection and rejuvenation.

In its active form as calcitriol, vitamin D contributes to skin cell growth, repair, and metabolism. It optimizes the skin’s immune system and helps destroy free radicals that can cause premature aging.

Topical vitamin D application can exert a protective and rejuvenating effect on aging skin.

Beta Carotene:

Increase cell turn-over and regeneration in the outer layers of the skin. Topical application of beta-carotene can enhance the appearance of the skin by restoring suppleness and adding a “glowing” pigment that seemingly evens out the skin tone. Beta-carotene’s antioxidant attributes, such as sun damage protection, are used to prevent the signs of aging in the skin; Beta-carotene’s corrective properties are used to help heal scratches and prevent scarring.

Deionized Water:

Simply means the removal of ions. Ions are electrically charged atoms or molecules found in water that have either a net negative or positive charge.
